I have noticed that my kids get really restless after lunch/recess time. Once coming in from recess we have Facebook Time (aka silent reading time) to settle them down.

Do you have any other suggestions on how to keep them motivated after lunch?

                                Have an amazing day!

  1. I like how you call it Facebook time - what a great idea! I settle my second graders down with silent reading as well. The afternoon is always a hard time for any grade.

  2. I start writing time before lunch and do any mini-lessons for the day then. I also tell the kids and write on the board what they're going to do when they come back in from lunch (it's always practicing what I just taught). Enough of the kiddos love writing so much that they come in silently and get right to work ... and boy do they get mad at the kids who don't. A little peer pressure can be a good thing :)
